The BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies

I didn't do a lot of noteworthy things this weekend. I had four days off of work, and one day I went to the Leadership Summit, but the rest of my days were spent resting, reading, relaxing, and baking these cookies.

I cannot turn down a cookie. They are kryptonite in this household because we both have a bad habit of binge eating them until we feel sick. Nevertheless, sometimes I get the urge to bake, and end up with these things calling my name until they're gone.

If you like your cookies soft, fluffy, and chewy, you should make these. And if you like your cookies flat and crispy, we can't be friends. Thats no way to eat a cookie.


  •  3/4 cup softened butter 
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 
  • 1/2 cup granulated  sugar 
  • 1 egg 
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla 
  • 2 cups flour 
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch 
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda 
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt 
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees 
  • Cream butter and sugar together
  • Add in egg and vanilla. 
  • Add  flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Mix. 
  • Add in the chocolate chips
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes

Thats it-you're done! Enjoy with a glass of milk!
