Hello Happy is a Choice readers! I'm an honored to be posting on Brittany's space for the second time. And let's just all be real here…we can't get enough of her posts right?
I have a huge favor to ask of you, friends. Can I call you friend? Heck, if you're a fan of Brittany, then I'm a fan of you. I want you to stop and ask yourself: are you a victim of your own self hate?
No seriously…even if you just scoffed and said "not me". Then I urge you to look a little closer.
How many times have you looked in the mirror and thought DANG I'm having a great hair day? Oh you can count them on one hand too?
How about the times you've looked in the mirror and thought about your dark circles, imperfect skin, wrinkles, in need of dye roots? Oh right, have you lost count too?
How about those incredibly beautiful "beauty bloggers" with their daily makeup routines? Have you fallen victim to the "I wants" after their perfectly put together posts? I will attest that I have ran out to the local drug store in search of the beauty bloggers perfect skin remedy. Does it work? Generally not. This is in no way a blow to their routine, as I'm pretty positive its my own operating error.
Here's an even bigger question. When was the last time you felt beautiful in your skin sans makeup?
If you can honestly say that you have ever felt beautiful in your bare skin, then I need you to be on my cheerleading squad. I need your encouragement and the secrets to your wise ways.
I want to feel that pride and let go of the expectation. I want YOU to know that bare face that God gave you, is His gift of beauty. You are His design and He is proud of it, so why aren't
The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7
I urge you to stop falling victim to the requests of what the media and society "thinks" beauty should look like.
Instead watch this empowering video which teaches us what we need to be putting on our face and into our lives. Lets hold each other accountable, and stop the self hate; because more than anything self hate is what doesn't look beautiful on us.
Stop by and say hello! I'd love to meet you!
