Weekend Trip: Arizona

Happy Monday! Today I am grateful to have spent the BEST weekend with my friend Lea. Lea and I were neighbors when we were in elementary school, and even after her family moved away, we stayed in contact over the past twenty years, taking turns visiting one another in Arizona and Idaho.

A few of you may remember Lea's story from last year-she lost her fiancé in a tragic accident when she was five weeks pregnant with her son, Wesson. Wesson was born in April, and between Lea moving back to Arizona and my half marathon and PHR, I finally got the chance to sneak away from work and spend a long weekend with her and her precious new baby.

Our weekend together was incredible. The last time we saw each other was my wedding weekend, and we ran around like chicken with our heads cut off for the entire four days. This weekend though, we were able to just relax and soak up our time together. It was so wonderful to wake up, sip coffee and snuggle Wesson while catching up on life. Wesson is such a good, sweet natured baby and seeing how naturally Motherhood came to Lea made my heart swell.

Obviously, I made really healthy eating decisions all weekend, and I am returning home to Idaho fat and happy. Its fine people, those donuts, cookie dough iced coffee, cake batter cookies, and cookie dough cupcake were WELL WORTH the calories. I am detoxing today and for the forseable future to recover though. What fun is a girls weekend without yummy treats?

Lea and I had the best time relaxing, shopping, eating (obviously) and loving on Wesson. We also got to spend some time with her parents and step mom, which I loved. Lea also launched a blog, LoveLe this weekend, and would LOVE for you to go check it out. She has quite the story to share, and is not only beautiful, but she's smart, creative, fashionable, and a true blessing in my life. I've definitely hit the friend jackpot, and am so glad I had the opportunity to spend a weekend with her! Already can't wait for when her and her sweet little guy make their way to Idaho!

I think I look pretty good with a baby, don't you? I definitely got my baby-fill this weekend-no Rasmussen babies in the near future though :) Don't forget to go stop by Lea's blog and say hello!
