Father's Day is around the corner-just about a week away. I have been doing some shopping, trying to find the perfect Fathers Day gift for him. What are you doing to celebrate your Dad? My Dad lives across the country for me, and we've lived in different states for about ten years now. Despite our distance, he is one of the first people I call for advice, to share good news, and when I just need someone to listen. Although distance separates us, I have always felt a tremendous amount of love and support from my Dad, and have learned valuable life lessons I will carry with me.
I've learned that magic happens over good meals and even better wine.
I've learned that sunshine and ocean air can cure just about anything.
I've learned what it means to have someone in my corner for whatever dreams I am chasing.
I've learned that relationships don't have to suffer even if you don't get to see someone everyday. Every time we are back together again we can pick up right where we left off without missing a beat.
He's told me I'm beautiful, loved, and precious over and over until I believed it.
My dad has shown me the meaning of sacrifice and selfless love.
He's given me countless pearls of wisdom and advice as I embark on my career journey. He's taught me to work hard and continue striving to succeed in school and my career, and to speak up and find my voice in the career world.
He's always been just a phone call or plane ride away. No matter what I need, he's someone I've always known I can count on to be a listening ear or to offer help when I need it. He truly has a heart of gold and has been the standard to which I've held men in my life to. He taught me how a lady should be treated, and I've grown up knowing I was loved and wanted every day of my life.
So tell me-what are you doing to celebrate your Dad this Fathers Day? Do you have any great Fathers Day gift ideas? What would you do with the $250 gift card if you won it, give it to your Dad or keep it for yourself?
