The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Today I am linking up with Amber from Mr. Thomas and Me for the 12 Days of Blogging link up, talking about all things Christmas!! We've had our tree up since Thanksgiving weekend but just finished decorating it.

Lets all just take a minute and praise the lord those red ornaments are all plastic, because as you can see, our mischevious kitty Ollie is obsessed with knocking them off the tree and chasing them around like its a ball.  He also enjoys climbing the tree, and napping under it when he is tired from all his activities.

Before this post turns into a why I love my cat and think he's the funniest animal ever, I will tell you about my favorite ornmanet. We don't have many yet, but growing our collection is something I am looking forward to over the years! My favorite one is one that joined the family last Christmas. Its somewhat cheesy, it says "Jesus is the Reason" but it just brings SO much perspective in my life during this season. This season can be so stressful and draining, the gifts and the parties and the decorations and all the pressure...but tht isn't what the holidays are supposed to be about. This ornament reminds me to celebrate the true gift God gave us. It reminds me to continually be a light to people, everyday of the year, but ESPECIALLY this season.

My prayer for this season is that any one who feels like they are missing someone during this season feels the presence of the Lord. That He would bring you peace to the broken parts of your heart. That you would know that even through the storm, He is still good. That if your separated by miles from your family, or someone you love has left this world too early, you feel loved by the people God placed in your life. That you feel treasured by Him, because you ARE.

Also-If you spotted that McDonalds french fry ornament, it is NOT because I love McDonalds so much. I used to work in HR at a factory that produced Mickey D's fries, so they lovingly gifted us with an ornament to hang on our tree. I don't even know why I have it hanging, I think its terrible, and the job was terrible...but alas, it still made its way on the tree this year. Hopefully we still have ornaments hanging on the tree by the time I get home tonight.

  7. That french fry ornament is ADORABLE… Mostly because of the story behind it even if it's not an AHHH-I-LOVE-IT story. :) I'm not a cat girl, but that sweet little Ollie cat is PRECIOUS. We have to do plastic ornaments too, Hazel had a little obsession with the balls on our tree the first Christmas we had her… Now she could care less and I don't' know what's changed!
