Rasmussen Wedding: Getting Ready

The day finally arrived-our amazing and talented photographer finished our pictures and we couldn't be happier with them! She captured our day so perfectly, and I cannot stop staring at our wonderful pictures. In order to overload you with more wedding pictures then anyone would want to see in one day, I will break it down for you a little.

The night before the wedding, my four beautiful bridesmaids and I had a big sleepover in a gorgeous hotel suite. All of us were so happy to just sit and enjoy each other that evening and talk about life, marriage, relationships and love. Last minute prepping like self-tanning went down, and when we all went to bed, Karissa and I laid awake talking until two in the morning.

The next morning, we all woke up and went to one of my favorite coffee shops and had coffee and breakfast with my mom, grandma and aunt. It was such a sweet time for me, I didn't feel anxious or nervous because of all the love I felt by being surrounded by my best friends.

My heart hurt a little because one of my dearest and sweetest friends Steph, who was originally supposed to be a bridesmaid, wasn't able to be a part of our day because they had just moved across the country a couple of months before the wedding and had a newborn baby girl. Though I was missing her deeply, we texted in the morning, and our friend Stacey kept sending her pictures throughout the day. Luckily, we were able to FaceTime them during the wedding, but I still felt their absence deeply.

The rest of the morning was spent getting ready with my girlfriends, and it was such a sweet, fun morning. Mimosas were flowing, music was playing, and I was beyond blessed to have a wonderful friend from Church come to the hotel to hang out with us and help organize and coordinate the whole day. She found a sewing kit when we needed to mend something on my dress, dealt with the caterers calling with their version of a crisis, and helped the guys get their ties on straight among many other things. Shal, you were a gift from heaven on my wedding day!

My morning with my best friends is such a treasured memory for me. I couldn't have asked for a better morning, these girls made my special day a dream. <3
