Why I Run

I run...because I can. Even with Rheumatoid Arthritis, thanks to modern medicine, health insurance, and God's grace, I am physically able to run.

I run...because I want to be healthy and strong.

I run...because I crave that time alone.

I run...because I feel like with each step, I am letting go of the stresses and worries of the day.

I run...because it is a time for me to pray, to process, and to brainstorm.

I run...because I want to be continually striving to be better.

I run...because it clears my head.

I run....because I love to eat.

I run...because discipline and hard work pay off.

I run...because I see the beauty in God's handiwork all around me-in the changing colors of the trees, in the sunset on an evening run, in the refreshing feeling of a run in pouring rain.

I run...because nothing beats a hot shower after a run on a cold day.

I run...because it makes me a better wife, friend, daughter, and employee.

Are you a runner? Tell me, why do you run?

  1. I love this! I especially run becaue I can too! I always think about not going and am suddenly reminded that I have two perfectly good legs and some people would kill to run!

  2. such a great picture of you you little runner bee!

  3. I love this. I am not a runner, but I've always wanted to be. My husband is so he is slowly helping me. I'm currently unable to exercise for 4 more weeks because of a surgery, but I actually look forward to putting my running shoes back on!

  4. I want to start running an suggestions for a beginner. I'm a little over weight and I run out of breath easy lol.

  5. I've recently started running and I'm definitely falling in love with it! I played soccer all my life so running was key but I never actually enjoyed running off the field until playing wasn't an option.

  6. Awesome! I love to run too!! I run because it makes every day a little bit better. I so agree :) It does make me a better wife, friend, etc.

  7. i run because i love to eat too :) cheers to running for whatever reason!

  8. I have tried to be a runner so many times. I can never make it more than a month because really, I just hate it. I know that once a lot of people make it part of the routine, they love it, like are addicted. But I just can't get there. My intentions are a runner ;)
